Jane Wiedlin

Jane Wiedlin and Belinda Carlisle came to my house, with some of their equipment, to visit for a weekend. They had come to visit before, I knew, a long time ago. It was a bit like having both Anna and Sharon come to visit, and then again no. It made me feel nervous and excited, I mean, they came to visit me. Jane was so charming. I told her how much I liked her, which made her uneasy, but then she attacked me. We made love feverishly, and then went outside, found somewhere to skinny dip. That...was bliss. And then we saw the cops. She was more embarrassed than I. They gave us coats and when we got back to the apartment they asked for her autograph. Here we laughed it off a bit, shy and secretive and slyly glancing at one another.

The girls did not have time to play anything, but that was ok. And when they did leave there was a feeling of ending in the air, as if I would not see them again, ever, and this was a dear moment that would twist slowly in our hearts forever, dwelling fitfully and yearning to be set free again. This was our goodbye, it was over too quickly. And I was sick at heart to see Jane again. And when her next album came out I bought the tape, saw my name inside under "Very Special Thanks."
